A SCHOOL TO BE PROUD OF
“Codsall Middle School is a friendly and happy school. Pupils are proud to be members of the school community.
Lessons are exciting and help all pupils to do well. At the end of lunchtime, pupils are eager to get to their next lesson.
At the end of the school day, the school is an exciting place to be”.
Codsall Middle School is a very special place and I am delighted to welcome you to our website..
Situated on the edge of rural South Staffordshire, we are a well-established, highly successful and significantly oversubscribed Middle School. Having taught at Codsall Middle for over thirty years, I whole-heartedly believe that middle school provision offers a valuable and unique advantage: breadth of curriculum, taught by specialists in specialist classrooms, all in an environment that is nurturing and warm.
We are committed to supporting every pupil as they flourish both academically and personally. We know that each child is an individual, with unique strengths and passions, so we work hard to provide a broad range of experiences, offering leadership opportunities and many chances to ‘get involved’ with something different. Our 2019 Ofsted recognised the palpable “excitement” evident throughout our lessons and this is enriched before, during and after school with our wide-ranging, ever-improving extra-curricular provision - Codsall Middle is indeed “an exciting place to be”!
I am very proud of our continuing success and believe it is built upon the focus we all have on promoting traditional values such as honesty, respect and politeness, as well as enjoying the latest technology, teaching methods and resources. However, above all, we want our children to be happy, have confidence and possess a real zest for life. We want our pupils grow to become outward-looking ‘Codsall Citizens’, making positive contributions to our community and the world around them.
We constantly seek opportunities to ensure our school remains at the cutting edge of educational developments; a reason for our continued record of success is that we always seek to improve and build on our established strengths. We consistently provide the highest quality of teaching and learning, making sure that educational research is at the heart of everything we do. I have high expectations of all in our school community, and I believe that the partnership between school and parents is crucial to the successful development of the children in our care.
You can tell a great school as you walk through the door so we welcome you to visit our wonderful school, speak to our pupils, who are our finest ambassadors, and feel the sense of warmth, commitment and excellence we provide for our children.

Visible Learning means an enhanced role for teachers as they become evaluators of their own teaching. According to John Hattie Visible Learning and Teaching occurs when teachers see learning through the eyes of students and help them become their own teachers.
